Associate Professor/ Assistant Professor / Lecturer / Assistant Lecturer

(Higher Diploma in Early Childhood Education)

 

Duties:

1.       Undertake programme planning and development within the respective team;

2.       Ensure smooth operation of the fieldwork practicum and liaise with kindergartens and centre superintendents;

3.       Monitor student performance and provide students with academic and pastoral support;

4.       Monitor and maintain the quality of course delivery and student learning process;

5.       Explore, establish and maintain close liaisons and cooperative relationships with external bodies in planning, organizing, developing and   

          implementing projects;

6.       Contribute to accreditation and recognition exercises of the programme;

7.       Assist in development of new courses, syllabuses, teaching, learning and assessment materials;

8.       Advise the Institute on studies which may be offered in new areas of education and any other matters of importance to the work of Institute;

9.       Perform administrative duties including student recruitment, admission, timetabling, examinations and practical training; and

10.    Undertake any other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

 

Requirements:

Applicants should possess

1.       A Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related disciplines from a recognized tertiary institution;

2.       Minimum 5 years working experience in relevant industry and, preferably with experience in teaching related discipline;

3.       Preference will be given to those who have a valid registration as Qualified Kindergarten Teacher, Child Care Worker, Child Care

          Supervisor, and Special Child Care Worker in Hong Kong;

4.       Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese.
